InspirENGR
ABOUT
Female, Male and non-binary students at NCSU (engineering and non-engineering majors) volunteer in programs catering to female elementary-high school students. Programs include monthly engineering workshops in the fall semester primarily using KiwiCo kits. Volunteers work with students to construct engineering kits and obtain valuable skills such as soldering. The spring semester consists of a three-day long mentor program, where mentors are paired with a high school-aged student and focus on introducing the engineering opportunities at NCSU. The mentor program provides campus tours, guest speakers, research laboratory tours, and student organization-led engineering activities. InspirENGR also holds an Engineering Day in the spring for elementary and middle school students with an entire day of engineering activities. Outside of service-based programs, InspirENGR holds social and networking events to provide volunteers with valuable engineering skills to ensure success beyond their undergraduate careers.
