ABOUT InspirENGR

Turning Interest into Action

Our team at InspirENGR believes that every girl deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in the engineering field. We organize workshops, mentorship programs, and Engineering Day, all designed to promote interest and engagement in the field of engineering. By interacting with female engineers and STEM professionals, young girls can envision themselves pursuing a career in engineering and one day, changing the world. Our programs foster a community of empowerment and collaboration among girls in engineering, and we invite you to be a part of it.

BACKGROUND

The organization was originally founded at Duke University in response to the gender gap present in engineering fields across the world. The NC State University chapter was founded in Fall 2015 in hopes of spreading InspirENGR's impact into the Raleigh area. The Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service at NC State named InspirENGR the “Most Outstanding New Student Organization” for 2015-2016 and our Mentor Program won “Most Outstanding Organization Program” for 2016-2017 because of the great impact apparent in both the local and campus communities. In the year 2021-2022, InspirENGR was awarded the Student Organization Growth and Development Award and the Deborah S. Moore Student Organization Award at NCSU.

Meet Our Executives

President

Perri Woodard

Perri is a senior in Environmental Engineering with research interests in environmental process engineering and analytical chemistry, specifically involving disinfection by-products in drinking water. She is eager to help younger students develop their interests in STEM fields, as well as help them build confidence and skills that will serve them in the future. Other activities Perri is involved in include undergraduate research in the Kotlarz Group within the Environmental Engineering lab, serving as a student ambassador in the Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering department, and Vintage Church’s college ministry. In her free time, Perri enjoys reading, walking her dog, spending time with friends and family, and playing Animal Crossing.

Vice President

Norah Sutton

Norah is a senior studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biomanufacturing. Inspired by her love of chemistry, she is passionate about using science and engineering to make a positive impact on the world. On campus, she is actively involved in Young Life, AIChE, and serves as the Logistics Committee Chair for Service Raleigh. This is her fourth year participating in InspirENGR, and one of her favorite memories is watching the girls create their own scented bath bombs. In her free time, Norah enjoys running, playing pickleball, spending time with friends and family, and baking.

Workshop Coordinator

Felicity Ream

Felicity is a sophomore in biomedical engineering passionate about regenerative medicine. Having previously served as Secretary, she looks forward to taking on the role of Workshop Coordinator this year. Outside of inspirENGR, she is a Research Assistant in the Translational Orthopaedic Lab, is part of the RUF Service Committee, and is a mentor for 1887 Scholars. She is from Greenville, NC, and her hobbies include reading, running, and playing board games.

Swathi Dwarampudi

Swathi is a sophomore pursuing Computer Science and Statistics and she is from Garner, NC. He is passionate about using AI to enhance operations within various industries. In her free time, she likes to swim, play the violin, and go on a walk. She’s excited to be the treasurer for InpirENGR this upcoming year!

Networking Coordinator

Eleanor Meinhold

Eleanor is a senior in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. As a native of Wilmington, NC, Eleanor enjoys drinking coffee/kombucha, playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and going to concerts! On campus, she’s involved in InspirENGR, American Society of Biological and Agricultural Engineers, Park Scholars Program, and Engineering Ambassadors. This will be her fourth year volunteering with InspirENGR and is excited to continue her passion for educational outreach.

Secretary

Sydney McCurry

Sydney is a first-year student planning to major in aerospace engineering! She is from western North Carolina and enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends. Sydney is passionate about decreasing the gender gap in engineering, as well as STEM outreach to rural and under-resourced communities. She is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as secretary with this amazing team.

Mentor Program Director

Blake Cregg-Wedmore

Blake is a second-year student majoring in biomedical engineering. Originally from Hazlet, New Jersey, she is a passionate advocate for promoting gender equity in STEM. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, writing, fitness, and spending time with friends. Blake is incredibly excited to serve as Mentor Program Director for InspirENGR this year and work alongside the rest of the team.

Engineering Day Director

Sophie Nebel

Sophie is a freshman aiming to pursue the electrical and computer engineering double major, and she hopes to become a computer hardware engineer. She’s from Charlotte, NC and is eager to inspire and share her passion for STEM to young girls. She loves playing rugby, going on nature walks, and robotics. She’s excited to be serving as this year's Engineering Day Director.

Kit Controller

Ellery Huffman

Ellery is a first-year student planning on majoring in Civil Engineering. Coming from Cary, NC, she’s passionate about using problem solving skills to help make the world more equitable. When she’s not in class, she’s interested in reading, listening to music, and building legos. She’s excited to serve as Kit Control 2 for InspirENGR and work with everyone this upcoming year!

Ashika Kamjula

Ashika is a second-year student planning on majoring in computer science and business administration (concentrating in business analytics) and minoring in cognitive science. Coming from Cary, NC, she’s passionate about using machine learning for equitable neurodegenerative disease diagnostics. When she’s not in class, she’s interested in reading, listening to music, and playing badminton. She’s excited to serve as a Kit Control Lead for InspirENGR and work with everyone this upcoming year!

Roxanne Wery

Roxanne is a junior in Biological and Agricultural Engineering with interest in ecology and bioprocesses. She is determined to get involved in encouraging young students to love and pursue STEM. In her free time she enjoys doing crafts, traveling, listening to music, and catching up with her friend and family.

Jessica Koirala

Jessica is a sophomore majoring in Environmental Engineering. She is from High Point, NC and is interested in sustainability and water resources. She is passionate about youth mentorship and helping young girls explore different STEM pathways. During her free time she enjoys reading, drawing, and going on walks. She is excited to be training for the Network Coordinator role this fall!
